Mondays With Mike

Each week we will discover a new topic that hopefully inspires you. We will have special guests, experts, friends, and colleagues. All with the intent of helping you grow your knowledge in a positive sense about the education industry.

While we are stuck at home with the pandemic we are surfing and watching streaming services. As a result, we miss some of the most creative advertising that can inspire us in this challenging period. Nike’s “Just Do It”, Wendy’s “Where the Beef”, Wheaties’ “Breakfast of Champions”, and M&M’s “Melts in Mouth, Not in Your Hand” are just a few that come to mind.

As a life-long marketer, I am always intrigued by these campaigns. And as someone who works in education, I want there to be a campaign that inspires students, teachers, and administrators. Finally, the new Nike ad, produced by Wieden + Kennedy, is everything that I wanted, the visuals and the messaging.

As educators, you make sure your students and your colleagues are never alone. As school starts this fall, once again you will be needed more than ever by students who are stressed and unsure of what is happening in a changing world.

Time and time again, we have seen teachers and educators rise up who have not been taken seriously and proven politicians and unjust administrations wrong. Teachers, librarians, professors, each of you care about each other and about the quality of your jobs and the ability to give 100% to your students, your patrons.

You teach your students that life is not fair. And that we must come together as a community as a country for change to happen.

Each time I watch this ad, I see the possibilities of how the educational community always comes back stronger, how we learn, how we innovate, how we come together.

I hope each of you have a great week. Contact me at mcampbell@advancingglobaledu.com I would be happy to speak with about your educational needs.
